Age verification and identification: will be required for presentation at the appointment. In the form of birth certificates, passports or driving licence.

It is essential that both a child and parent realise that a piercing is a commitment. Some good due diligence is to watch some piercing videos (including our channel). Ensure that your child also wants these piercings as they will have to be both calm and stoic for the few minutes it takes to insert the needle and complete the procedure.

Piercing Protocols

All piercings are carried out with single use sterile needles and ASTM F136 surgical grade titanium fittings.  Upgraded Crystals /titanium attachments  can also be purchased for more premium price depending upon on ,the value and luxury results you are  looking for. Due to piercing protocol and health and safety, we are unable to pierce with jewllery other then our piercing jewllery

Child and Parental and Underage ID

We are permitted to pierce children and babies under the following criteria:1. Strictly with parental presence, (parent must also hold infant under 18 months during piercing procedure)2. proof of ID eg passport or birth certificate.An essential video to watch is the our tips for parents, it will prepare you and your child for when you attend your appointment(see link below)

We will require all clients to wear a face covering and complete a covid-19 consent / clearing form upon arrival at the clinic. It is an essential requirement to mark the preferred piercing location from home (to minimise contact time during pandemic period) but also as younger infants can be restless in anticipation of the procedure ahead. We will of course re-cleanse prior to piercing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BABY AND TODDLER PIERCING

WILL THE PIERCING BE DONE WITH A STERILE SINGLE USE needle?

Yes all piercings are carried with a sealed and sterile needle that is opened just prior to performing the procedure. Each piercing needle is used once at a single location. A new needle is used for piercing.

IS A PIERCING INSTRUMENT THE SAME A GUN?

If it looks like a piercing gun then it is effectively a gun. There are companies who claim that piercing guns or compressors are quick and painfree. However within the piercing industry they are not considered optimal and are unsuitable for use for many reasons:

• Not being single use,
• creating a blunt hole causing more trauma,
• not aim friendly (may miss location), uncomfortable tight jewllery,
• disturbing sound on release etc.

WHAT KIND OF ENVIRONMENT WILL MY BABY’S  PIERCING TAKE PLACE IN?

TO NUMB OR NOT NUMB!

Numbing cream is not recommended as it is only suitable for surface treatments e.g botox and fillers.  Numbing cream can also react to metal and cause the appearance of a frostbite reaction. Further to medical advice over the counter pain killers can be administered to bring relief post procedure. 

WILL MY CHILD BE IN DISCOMFORT OR PAIN?

The discomfort of a single use hollow bore needle is similar to a pinching sensation often followed by slight swelling and heat. Piercing sensation is akin to an injection at a doctors surgery, the reward of any discomfort will be overcome with the joyous sensation of seeing their beautiful jewelry in situ. 

AFTERCARE / DISCOMFORT POST PIERCING?

to use a saline wash and an oil such as Argon or tea Tree

Piercing aftercare is crucial, additional  best steps are:

Cold compress: Applying an ice pack can alleviate pain and minnimise swelling. Take note to apply a cloth barrier between the ice skin to prevent frostbite

Over the counter pain killers such as calpol, can provide effective relief. Always consult your paediatrician. 

For Breast feed babies breast milk is naturally the best a form of comfort and relief.
